The theatre group performs mental health related works including issues affecting young people which are often swept under the carpet.

The group have won various awards for their work including the NSDF Best Emerging Artist Award 2012, the First Fortnight Award 2014, an Argus Angel Award at the Brighton Fringe 2015 and the Fishamble Award for Best New Writing at the Dublin Fringe 2015 for Overshadowed.

Overshadowed is a moving and insightful piece that aims to provoke compassion and debate around the subject of eating disorders.

Confirming their Ennis date, artistic director of Sunday‘s Child Eva O’Connor said: “We’ve very excited to be bringing this play to Clare.”
The award winning play will be at Glór Theatre on the 14th of October at 8pm.

The story:

Having battled with an eating disorder in her teenaged years, Overshadowed is the culmination of writer and performer Eva O’Connor’s long-seated ambition to create work around the subject.

Eating disorders are sorely misunderstood – much like depression, they are seen to be a personal failing of the sufferer rather than an illness which strikes indiscriminately.

Overshadowed aims to engage young people in a conversation about anorexia and mental health in general, in order to combat the stigma that surrounds these important topics.
