Anthony Daly has pulled out of the race for the vacant Clare Senior Hurling managerial position.

Clare’s All-Ireland winning captain of 1995 and 1997 has decided to withdraw his name from the running for the role of Clare Senior Hurling manager. He had announced his intentions to go for the position earlier in the week with Brian Lohan and Tommy Dunne part of his proposed management.

It now means Donal Moloney and Gerry O’Connor will assume control of the Banner as they were the only other nominated party.

Tuesday’s meeting of Clare County Board is expected to ratify Moloney and O’Connor who led the County to a historic three-in-a-row U21 hurling titles from 2012 – 2014.
