Man struck by car in Ennis

A man is recovering in hospital after he was struck by a car in Ennis this afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 4.30pm at a pedestrian crossing on the Causeway Link road near glór.

It’s understood that the man in his 40’s was crossing the road when he was struck by a car. The female driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

An ambulance and rapid response advanced paramedic unit responded to the incident along with gardaí.

The man was assessed and treated at the scene before being transported by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick. The man’s injuries are not believed to be serious.

Gardaí are investigating the incident.
