Killaloe student killed in Tipperary farm tragedy

A 15-year-old Killaloe student has died following farmyard accident in Co Tipperary.

The tragedy occurred at around 4.00pm on Sunday at a relative’s farm at Boulaglass near Portroe.

The tragic teen has been named locally as Patrick McCormack from Ballina who was a student at St Anne’s in Killaloe in Clare.

It’s understood that Patrick fell from the back of a tractor while working at the farm.

Emergency service rushed to the scene but the teenager was pronounced dead.

The HSA is investigating the tragedy

Gardaí returned to the scene this morning along with an inspector from the Health and Safety Authority (HSA). Two investigations into the tragedy are now underway.

Ballina GAA club, of which Patrick was a popular members, offered their condolences to the family on their Facebook page.
