‘Meet the Candidates’ & Voter Registration events


Clare Public Participation Network (PPN)will host a ‘Meet the Candidates & Voter Registration’ event next week in each Municipal District in County Clare in the run up to the 2019 Local Elections.

Candidates are invited to address the voters of their Municipal District and voters will be given the opportunity to have their questions answered by candidates.

Please check the register www.checktheregister.ie to ensure that you are registered to vote. If not, you can get registered before the main event, thanks to An Garda Síochána.

So come along, inform and be informed!!!

The dates are as follows:

Killaloe Municipal District: 23rd April @ 7pm, Kilkishen Cultural Centre

Kilrush Municipal District: 24th April @ 7pm, An Teach Cheoil, Kilrush

Shannon Municipal District: 25th April @ 7pm, Shannon Oakwood Hotel

Ennis Municipal District: 26th April @ 8pm, Cloughleigh Community Centre

Ennistymon Municipal District: 30th April @ 7pm, The Falls Hotel

Chief Reporter Pat Flynn has worked as a journalist for almost 30 years. His career began during the late 1980s when, like many aspiring radio presenters of the time, he worked for local pirate radio stations in Clare and Limerick. Pat joined Clare FM in 1990 where he worked as researcher initially and later presented several different programmes including the station's flagship current affairs programme. He was also the station's News Editor and Deputy Controller of Programmes. Despite leaving in 2003 to pursue a career as a freelance journalist, he continues to work with the station to this day. As well as being the Clare Herald’s Chief Reporter Pat is also freelance journalist and broadcaster, contributing to Ireland’s national newspapers and is a regular contributor to national broadcasters.
