Firefighters hold fundraiser event for Ennis Scouts

Members of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station have volunteered their time to help raise funds for Ennis Scouts.

The event, in O’Connell Square in Ennis, will take place between 10am and 5pm today (Friday).

Firefighters will park one of the station’s emergency tenders in the Square and display the equipment they use in their every day work. Fire service personnel will also offer advice on fire safety and will answer questions anyone might have regarding joining the fire service.

Parents and Scouts will also help at the event if anyone wants to know more about joining the organisation.

A collection will take place during the day to raise funds for a new Scout hall in Ennis.

Everyone is welcome to call up to the Square in Ennis during the day and any contributions towards providing a new hall for the Scouts, will be gratefully accepted.

Listen to Ennis Scout leader Fiona Staunton, Ennis fire service station officer JP McGrath and firefighter Danny Keller. They appeared on Morning Focus on Clare FM earlier this week.
