Having recently partnered with Ireland’s largest multiplex cinema chain, Omniplex Cinemas, Skycourt Shannon Town announced plans for a new cinema which was due to open earlier this year.

It has been now confirmed that plans are now underway to revise the original cinema to six screens! The additional screens will incur a slight delay to the opening date (now towards the end of the year) but will result in an overall better cinema experience.

Skycourt Shannon Town presents the perfect location for Omniplex’s latest cinema opening, which is located in the heart of the shopping centre and with new additions such as Hook and Ladder living café, the plans to revise the cinema will be a welcome addition to the community.

Mark Anderson, Omniplex Director commented: “We are delighted to become part of the Skycourt Shopping Centre. In the planning process we identified opportunities which allowed us to add additional screens by making some subtle changes in layout. The changes will also facilitate operational & fire safety improvements and provide for an overall enhanced customer experience. The extra screen will also increase the number of films we can exhibit. We apologise for the slight delay in the development, but we are confident that the long terms benefits will be worth it”

Dan O’Flynn, Centre Manager, Skycourt Shopping Centre commented; “We are very excited regarding the cinema plans as well as for what is to come once the cinema is up and running. The addition of more screens will allow for more daily viewings of the latest releases” Dan goes on to say “A trip to the cinema has always been a much-loved treat and we are thrilled that Omniplex have extended on their original plan”

Skycourt Shannon Town has a catchment of over 40,000 within a 15-minute drive and has had a number of new additions over the last year with Paradise Boutique and Hook & Ladder opening their doors, and these changes will add to the overall excitement in the centre!

It is truly an exciting time in Skycourt Shannon Town and with plenty more in the pipeline. Stay up to date with all the latest news and updated on the Omniplex opening by signing up to Skycourt’s newsletter for all the latest news and offers!
