Thousands of people have attended the opening weekend of the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival which got off a flying start, with the Senior Clare Hurlers launch at the Hydro Hotel.

A silver jubilee programme to mark 25 years of magical moments on the University Concert Hall (UCH) stage will hit the high notes with a special Gala Concert celebration this September.

Clare’s Senior Hurlers will launch this year’s Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival - as part of a ‘Club Clare’ fundraising event at the Hydro Hotel.

A sound and music research project based in West Clare focusing on the complex legacy of immigration and assimilation has been commissioned by Clare County Council Arts Office under Gaining Ground, a major new Public Art programme for County Clare.

From September, children and young people throughout the county will have opportunities to access music tuition in three new ‘instrument hubs’, thanks to Music Generation Clare.

The biggest stars of the Irish country music scene will headline this year’s ‘Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival’ in September.  

Two of Ireland's finest songwriters and performers, Luan Parle and Clive Barnes, will perform a double headline show at Cultúrlann Sweeney on August 17th and at Tom Steele's in Ennis August 18th.
