An army bomb disposal team has carried out a controlled explosion on a hand grenade discovered at the back of a house in Newmarket on Fergus, Co Clare this afternoon.
Two people were airlifted to hospital while three others were evacuated by lifeboat after a road traffic collision on one of the Aran Islands in the early hours of the morning.
