€284,000 has been allocated to Clare County Council under CLÁR 2016 to implement road safety measures in the vicinity of schools and community facilities at 29 locations throughout County Clare.
It has been a busy start to the winter period at Clare County Council’s Depot/Maintenance facilities with 673.5 tonnes of rock salt and 147,000 litres of brine used to date in road treatment operations throughout the county.
Clare County Council has beaten off competition from across the island of Ireland to be named winner of the Charles Thomson Award, an annual award scheme which recognises the work of Local Authorities in promoting water safety.
Clare County Council and Clare County Fire and Rescue Service are urging members of the public and businesses not to supply any waste material to persons who do not hold a valid waste collection permit.
