Postcards carrying important environmental messages and designed by young people from across County Clare have been distributed throughout Ennis to coincide with the start of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016.

It has been hailed as the biggest event to ever take place in Co Clare, the months of preparation have finished and now the stage is set for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2016.

President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins will officially open Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann on Sunday evening.

The Mirazozo luminarium, a giant art installation featuring caverns for members of the public to explore, is being erected at Active Ennis Tim Smythe Park this afternoon before opening to the public from tomorrow (Saturday) in time for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.

Next week, the streets of Ennis will be alive with the sound of traditional music and Francis Street will be no different.

TG4’s popular show Fleadh TV returns to television across the Country this Thursday.

Ireland’s rich musical heritage will be showcased at Clare Museum in Ennis during Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann with an exhibition of ancient musical instruments and musician’s clothing spanning more than 3000 years.
