Round Two draw takes place for Clare SFC

Cooraclare v Miltown-20Clareabbey was the venue as the pairings for Round Two of the Clare Senior Football Championship were announced.

St Josephs Miltown’s bid to retain Jack Daly got off to a positive start in the opening round when they defeated Wolfe Tones. Michael Neylon’s now face Cooraclare in a repeat clash of last year’s final as they aim to book their place in the quarter-finals of the competition.

Kilmurry/Ibrickane who are unbeaten so far in 2016 put their record on the line when they face St Breckans. 2014 Champions Cratloe will take on Lissycasey while it’s St Senan’s Kilkee versus Doonbeg in the final tie in that section.

It’s must-win for all teams in the losers section. Wolfe Tones and Doora/Barefield do battle while Clondegad come up against 2015 Intermediate Champions Corofin. Éire Óg play O’Currys and Ennistymon meet Kilrush Shamrocks.

Victorious teams in the winners section of Round Two will advance to the quarter-finals, defeated clubs in the winners section find themselves in Round Three. Clubs that collect a win in the losers section get a second bit of the cherry in Round Three while a second successive defeat for teams in the losers sees them fall into the relegation semi-finals.
