In the first full day of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann, the streets of Ennis were busy with people and performers.

As well as the competitions which run throughout the week there was plenty to keep the visitors entertained on Monday. East Clare and the music of the area was celebrated in a special concert with Martin Hayes, Dennis Cahill, the Tulla Céilí Band, Ceoltóirí Chnoc na Gaoithe, Andrew and Mary MacNamara along with Sorcha and Padraig Costelloe all taking to the stage at Glór.

Christy McNamara launched his new album ‘Where The Heart Lies’ while fellow Crusheen man Eddie Lenihan had led storytelling in the afternoon. Daily events such as Cuaird, the Frank Custy Session and the Fidil Beo Series also attracted big crowds.

John Meyler was one of the many celebrating the music of East Clare in Glór while Eamon Ward paid a trip to the popular Mirazozo luminarium and David Crimmins toured the streets of Ennis.
