The search continued today for a man feared missing in the vicinity of the Cliffs of Moher.
A search mounted on the evening Monday December 12th when a man was reported missing after his car found in Doolin.
Gardaí and the Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard mounted and initial search while the Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter joined the effort on Tuesday morning. The crew of Rescue 115 carried out a further search on Wednesday.
After the helicopter crew spotted something in water on Tuesday, the Aran Islands RNLI lifeboat was tasked along with the Doolin Coast Guard boat and requested to carry out a search of the area. Nothing was found.
Rescue 115 returned to the scene on Sunday afternoon and carried out a comprehensive search from Doolin along the coastline south to Hags Head and towards Liscannor and then south towards Spanish Point.
The helicopter crew carried out a further search on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, no trace has been found of a woman reported missing at the Cliffs of Moher late last month.
Weather conditions in the area had hampered the original search.
