Update: Met Éireann has further its weather warning for Clare and say that conditions will be become overnight.
The weather service had issued a Status Yellow rain warning for the county from this afternoon to early Saturday morning.
Met Éireann has now issued a Status Wind warning for the county and the rest of Munster as well as Leinster.
Forecasters says it become very windy with southeast winds, veering southwest gusting up to 110km/h, higher on exposed coasts and hills.
The potential impacts of the could include

• Travel disruption.
• Power outages.
• Wave overtopping.
The warning will come into effect at 9.00pm today and remain in place until 6.00am on Saturday.
Thursday: Met Éireann has updated a Status Yellow rain warning issued for Clare this Friday.
The warning will now take effect at 2.00pm on Friday and remain in place until 3.00am on Saturday.
The updated warning will affect all of Munster, Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Offaly, Wexford and Galway.

A rain warning for the rest of country will come into effect at 5.00pm on Friday and remain in place until 6.00am on Saturday.
