Gardaí are investigating a serious incident where a young man was assaulted after he left a popular amenity in Ennis last Thursday.
Gardaí say they wish to speak with three men after the victim was seriously assaulted and robbed while walking home from Tim Smyth Park near Ennis courthouse.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening last between 8.30pm and 9pm. The victim noticed that three men, whom he recognised from the basketball courts in the park, were following him.
The assailants attacked the young man and stole a sum of money before making their escape on foot in the direction of St Senan’s Road.
One male is described as being 6ft, with thick eyebrows, black clothing and a grey furry mask/snood. Two other suspects are said to be about 5ft 9in, wearing black clothing and black masks or snoods.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been in the Fairgreen or at the basketball court area of Tim Smyth Park or who was walking in the Tulla Road, Kincora Park, St Senan’s Road areas to come forward if they have any information or saw three males around the time of the incident.
Gardaí are also appealing to any homeowners in these areas, who may have CCTV or motorists with Dash Cams on their vehicles to come forward.
