Drugs seized by Revenue officers at Shannon Airport

Revenue Customs officers at Shannon Airport seized 3kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €60,000.

The illicit drugs were discovered on Friday in parcels originating in the USA and destined for addresses in Counties Limerick, Cork and Tipperary.

The discovery was made as a result of risk profiling.

A spokesperson for Revenue said: “Investigations are ongoing.”
