Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Thunderstorm warning for Clare.
The warning, issued quite late at 4.33pm, coincided with a spell of heavy rain as well as thunder and lightning that occurred in the county.
The weather service has warned of heavy showers with thunderstorms and said the possible impacts include:

• Localised flooding
The warning will remain in place until 9.00pm today.
