Tuesday, 9.25pm – Emergency services attended the scene of a significant fire at a property on the outskirts of Ennis this evening.
The alarm was raised at around 8.20pm when a blaze was reported at a house at Knockanean on the Tulla Road adjacent to junction 13 off the M18 motorway.
Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station responded to the incident and on arrival, found two cars and an amount of property well alight in the front yard of the house at the traveller accommodation site. The house had previously been destroyed by fire.
Two ambulances and a paramedic response unit also attended the incident along with Gardaí. It’s understood that no injuries have been reported.
The circumstances of the fire will be investigated by Gardaí.
The fires took place outside a house where two blazes have taken place already this year. In the second fire at the property in April, the house was destroyed. Both the February and Aprils fires are suspected to have been started maliciously.
