Overnight rain warning issued for Clare

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Rain Warning for a number of counties including Clare.

The weather service is warning of ‘heavy and persistent rain at times’ in Clare, Cork, Kerry, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.

The potential impacts of the heavy rain include localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions while outdoor events impacted.

The warning come in effect this evening at 10.00pm and remain in place until 10.00am on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, a small Craft warning for all coasts of Ireland.

Met Éireann says southerly winds will increase to force 6 or higher

The warning will take effect until midnight.
