Clare Civil Defence assists Gardaí in Limerick search

Clare Civil Defence personnel were requested to assist Gardaí with searches in Limerick City as part of an ongoing missing persons investigation.

Searches were carried out on Wednesday along the banks of the River Shannon as well as in wetlands off the Condell Road.

A Garda spokeswoman confirmed: “Gardaí carrying out searches in Limerick City as part of an ongoing missing persons investigation.”

The spokeswoman added that there was “no further information” to add at this time.

It’s understood the search is part of ongoing efforts to located Luke Price (27), originally from Geashill, Co Offaly, who travelled from his home in Portlaoise to Limerick on January 14th last, but has not been seen since.

Gardaí had issued an appeal for the public’s assistance in tracing Mr Price’s whereabouts after he was reported missing from his home in Mountkennet, Limerick city on Tuesday, 14th January 2025.

Luke was seen at around 9:00pm on Tuesday evening and is described as being approximately 6 feet in height with a slim build, auburn hair and blue eyes.

When last seen, Luke was wearing a black coat, blue jeans and black boots.
