Ennis Tidy Towns committee has launched its annual garden competition for which applications are being accepted.
This year the categories are Miniature/ Small/ Medium/ Large/ Biodiversity Garden and Budding Gardener (u/18) and a separate competition for all who won a first prize in the 2024 competition.
If you wish to enter your garden, Ennis Tidy Towns need some details from you.
You can pick up an application form from Ennis Chamber, Clare County Council, Clare FM or Clon Road Garden Centre or put these details on a piece of paper and post to Ennis TidyTowns Garden Competition at 54 O’Connell Street or Whatsapp at 083 87 00 349 (no calls please)
Details required are:
Name of Gardener
Their address and eircode
Their telephone number and email and their signature.
Closing date is extended to July 4th.
There is also an Ennis Tidy Towns Community Green Space Competition, this competition is for housing estates, civic gardens and grottos.
Again the application form needs a contact name. address of category and eircode.
Telephone number and email, and this can be posted or dropped in to the Ennis Chamber office at 54 O’Connell St.
Our adjudicators like to meet the gardeners and walk around with the creator as we find there is often a very personal story to these gardens, explains Mary Howard who is Chairperson of Ennis TidyTowns, “the standard of gardens is unbelievably high and we show photos of the winning gardens at our awards night in the autumn”
“This year we are asking that in order to be GDPR compliant we need a signature from each entrant, as a couple of entrants were pleasantly surprised by the adjudicators last year!” she concluded.
