Dawn Chorus walk with Seán Ronayne at Irish Seed Savers

Irish Seed Savers will host a Dawn Chorus walk this Saturday July 5th from 5am.

Birdsong expert Seán Ronayne will lead the walk at the 20 acre site to listen to the twenty+ bird species onsite in our orchards and seed gardens.

Participants will also have the chance to hear Seán’s experience of setting up Irish Wildlife Sounds and capturing Irish song birds on record.

The event will conclude with complimentary tea and coffee in our café alongside a book signing of Seán’s book, Nature Boy.

Sean has been touring the country, most recently featured on the Tommy Tiernan Show and the BlindBoy podcast. This is a rare chance to walk a dawn chorus with him in Clare County as he completes his book tour around Ireland, and the only chance to do a bird walk in a heritage orchard and seed bank, home to up to 21 bird species.

For more information and tickets, check out the events section on www.irishseedsavers.ie or google Irish Seed Savers Dawn Chorus.

His work blends science, art, and conservation, offering listeners a unique way to connect with nature through sound.

With a background in zoology and ecology, Seán creatively employs audio technology to study and preserve the acoustic landscapes of Ireland’s wild places. His dawn chorus recordings have been featured in national media and nature documentaries, asking us to listen more closely to the forgotten soundscape of our environment.
