Two people have been transported to hospital for treatment following a road traffic collision in the county this morning.
The single-vehicle crashed occurred at around 8.30am on the N85 Ennis to Ennistymon road at Leckaun West between Kilnamona and Inagh.
National Ambulance Service paramedics, Gardaí and units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station responded to the incident.
On arrival, emergency crews found that a car had left the road leaving two young women trapped inside.
Fire service personnel were able to safely remove the occupants from the car and handed them into the care of the ambulance paramedics. They were assessed at the scene and later removed to University Hospital Limerick for further treatment.
Their injuries are not believed to be serious.
The road was closed for a time while emergency crews dealt with the incident however it has since reopened.
