Clare facing unsettled weather as Storm Amy moves in

Storm Amy is forecast to hit Ireland over the coming resulting in Status Yellow wind and rain warnings being issued for Thursday and Friday.

Met Éireann has issued two weather warnings which will affect Co Clare in the coming days.

A Status Yellow – Rain Warning has been issued for all of Munster including Clare as well as for Cavan, Donegal, Connacht and Longford.

Widespread rain, heavy at times is expected from 6.00am on Thursday, through the day until 8.00pm.

The likely impacts include localised flooding possible and difficult travelling conditions

Meanwhile, a Status Yellow – Wind Warning has been issued for all of Ireland

Storm Amy is expected to bring strong to near gale force and gusty southwesterly winds.

The potential impacts of the storm include difficult travelling conditions; debris and loose objects displaced while trees could also be toppled.

This warning will take effect from midday on Friday and remain in place until midnight.
