Ireland’s eleven-man musical powerhouse, The White Horse Guitar Club, released their second studio album, Sos Beag, earlier this month.
Next month they’ll perform at glór music theatre in Ennis as part of their Seos Beag Tour. The nearest alternative event will take place at Dolan’s in Limerick on November 2nd.
The White Horse Guitar Club is a diverse group, comprising individuals from various walks of life – from a stonemason to an engineer, a photographer to a teacher. Yet, they all share a common passion for singing, playing, and performing live, forging strong connections with their audiences in Ireland and beyond.
From a rainy Cork pub in 2012 to millions of YouTube views, sold-out shows, and a performance for President Michael D. Higgins, the band’s eleven voices and guitars create a sound that’s impossible to ignore. Their 16-date nationwide tour is already selling fast, promising live shows full of warmth, camaraderie, and unforgettable musical mastery.
The band is renowned for their soulful blend of Americana and roots music infused with an Irish heartbeat, continues to captivate audiences worldwide.
Recorded at the very pub where it all began, Sos Beag is a soulful invitation to pause, reconnect, and celebrate the power of shared song.
“Life’s full of noise. Sos Beag is our attempt to make space for the quieter truths,” says founding member Joe Philpott. The album blends original compositions with soulful reinterpretations, embodying the band’s philosophy of music as connection rather than perfection.
The White Horse Guitar Club are celebrated for their communal, moving performances. From intimate theatres to festival stages, audiences are drawn to the energy, humour, and authenticity of eleven musicians performing as one.
Their heartfelt cover of Townes Van Zandt’s ‘If I Needed You’ has reached over 1.7 million YouTube views, and BBC’s Cerys Matthews calls them “a band that is taking Ireland, and the rest of the world, by storm.” Their rendition of Buddy and Julie Miller’s ‘Wide River To Cross’ has also earned widespread praise.

“There is an authenticity to The White Horse Guitar Club’s performance in which the musicians allow themselves to take all the risks while delivering a very professional concert. This has the great effect of making the experience a very personal one for everyone in attendance. Good for the heart and soul – the music knows no borders.”Michael D. Higgins, Uachtarán na hÉireann.
