Gardaí in Shannon are investigating an arson attack carried out on a home in the town in the early hours of Monday morning.
At around 5.30am yesterday, two youths approached the front door of a home in Inis Ealga. They squirted a liquid on the front door and sitting window areas of the property and set it alight.
Units from Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Shannon station responded to the incident along with Gardaí. On arrival at the scene, fire crews located the householder at the rear of the property having safely exiting the house.
A video of the incident was shared on social media platforms.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information about the two youths involved, or who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area overnight on Monday to contact Shannon Garda Station on 061 365 900.
