A man has been airlifted to hospital after he was injured while hiking in the Burren in North Clare this afternoon.
It’s understood the man in his 60s was hiking with others on Gleninagh Mountain near Black Head at the time.
The alarm was raised at around 2.00pm when watch officers at the Irish Coast Guard’s marine rescue coordination centre on Valentia Island in Kerry received a call about the incident.

The Doolin unit of the Irish Coast Guard was tasked along with the Shannon-based Coast Guard helicopter.
The casualty was treated at the scene before being airlifted to University Hospital Galway for treatment by Rescue 115. The man is believed to have suffered a lower leg injury.
