At around 9.40pm, while volunteers were training on the river, they were flagged down and asked for assistance.

The crew contacted watch officers at the Irish Coast Guard’s Marine Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) on Valentia Island in Kerry to inform them they were responding to assist persons in difficulty.

The two occupants of the Jetski were taken on board the rescue boat and the jetski was taken on tow back to Ballina slipway where a shore team assisted in the safe recovery of the ski from the water.
