Two people are recovering in hospital following a multi-vehicle collision on the N18 near Bunratty this morning.
The crash, which involved three vehicles, occurred at around 8.30am at the height of rush hour in the southbound carriage just beyond Bunratty.
Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Shannon station responded along with National Ambulance Service paramedics and GardaÃ.
One lane of the carriageway was left blocked following the collision however fire crews were able to keep traffic moving by implementing an emergency traffic management system.
The occupants of all three vehicles were assessed by paramedics and two people were later transported to University Hospital Limerick for further treatment. It’s understood to have been a precautionary measure.
