A cruise boat with eight people on board was prevented from colliding with a bridge following a quick response from the Killaloe unit of the Irish Coast Guard.
The alarm was raised at 5.50pm today when a member of the public spotted the 32ft Bayliner drifting close to Killaloe Bridge.

There were three adults and five children on board the craft which had experiences engine trouble.
The boat was left drifting at about 2 knots (3.7kmh) and at risk of colliding with the bridge.
Volunteers from the the Killaloe unit of the Irish Coast Guard made their way to the scene and quickly located the boat.
All on board were safe and well and rescue teams helped them tie their boat up safely at Ballina Quay.
