CLG Cora Chaitlín have confirmed that Pat Keogh Chauffeur Service and The Sports Bar are the club’s new main sponsors.
A statement issued on behalf of the club praised the influence of both businesses in supporting Newmarket-on-Fergus GAA down through the years.
“Proprietor of The Sports Bar, Johnny Collins is one of the greatest hurlers to emerge from our club. A versatile player, Johnny was one of the bright lights on our adult hurling team during a dark period in the 1990s and his character really shone through at this time. He represented the club on many County panels. Following on from his retirement, Johnny immersed himself in coaching and was heavily involved with the Senior Hurlers in the past decade and was a member of management when the Canon Hamilton was won in 2012.
Managing Director of Pat Keogh Chauffeur Service, Mr Pat Keogh has been a member of the Club Executive for the past eleven years. Pat has served in a wide range of positions on the Executive and has also been involved with several underage hurling teams and also managed the Senior Camogie team in 2012. He was Chairman of the Club when Newmarket-on-Fergus won the Clare Senior Hurling Championship title for the first time in thirty one years and was in the same position when Clare won the All-Ireland Hurling Championship in 2013”.
Welcoming the news, Freddy McInerney, Chairman of Newmarket-on-Fergus GAA paid tribute to both sponsors. “We are very excited to welcome Pat Keogh Chauffeur Service and The Sports Bar on board as our club’s main sponsors. Key to the success of the GAA is the role of volunteers and both men have been fantastic volunteers within our club for many years. We strive to create a strong community spirit and by having two local businesses as our main sponsors this will only strengthen the sense of community within our club.”
Outgoing sponsor Martin Donnelly has had a very positive role on the life of CLG Cora Chaitlín with the Club Executive praising his contribution to the club. “Our club has been extremely fortunate with the contributions of Martin Donnelly over the past decade. Martin is a brilliant ambassador for our County and we have many fond memories from his involvement with the club. We are very grateful for all he has done, we wish Martin all the best for the future and we look forward with optimism to the beginning of a new era with The Sports Bar and Pat Keogh Chauffeur Service”.
