Two people had a lucky escape after they got into difficulty near Kilkee this evening .
The pair had been jet-skiing at Byrne’s Cove when they suffered a mishap with their jet-ski.
Weather conditions at the time were said to be poor with strong winds and rough seas.
A member of the public alerted Irish Coast Guard volunteers who had been at their station at the time.
Coast Guard personnel quickly launched a rescue boat and raced to the scene. The Shannon based search and rescue helicopter was also alerted for what would have been their fourth mission today.
After a short search, rescue personnel located the two men who had made it ashore at Byrnes Cove and appeared to be unharmed.
Once it was confirmed the casualties had made it safely ashore, the rescue helicopter was stood down.
It’s understood the pair were uninjured however sea conditions and it’s dangerous location, prevented any attempt to recover the jet-ski.
