Clare Camogie will hold their Annual General Meeting this Monday in Hotel Woodstock.

Officers can only serve for five years in one position, this rule forced Brid MacNamara to step away from the position of PRO last year but the Ruan woman is unopposed as she prepares to be elected on Monday evening. She will also have an Assistant as Caroline O’Keeffe has been nominated.

There will be little change elsewhere with Sixmilebridge duo Joe Robbins and Alma Keane to continue as Chairperson and Secretary respectively. Joe O’Donnell is the sole nominee for Vice Chairperson as is Marie-Louise Kaiser for Fixtures Secretary and Catherine O’Loughlin for Treasurer.

A number of motions have been submitted by clubs for discussion at Monday’s AGM. Clooney/Quin are looking for unlimited subs in underage games. Cratloe are asking where numbers are sufficient that fifteen a side games occur in the C Division.

Clubs are conscious to avoid a clash with Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann with Inagh/Kilnamona requesting no club games be played on the weekends of August 12th/13th and 19th/20th. Kilkishen are seeking for all amalgamated teams to compete in A grades only.

Referees will have to provide umpires and linesmen for semi-finals and finals if a motion from Sixmilebridge is passed. They have also asked the fixtures committee to set down dates for all rounds of the senior championship before the race for the McMahon Cup begins.

Kilkishen proposing that the County Board “takes proper and due consideration of club training and matches versus County training and matches, as the clubs are the ‘life blood’ that feeds both County & Club teams with players”.

Ruan’s motion for skorts to be optional at all underage grades has been deemed to be out of order.
