A man is recovering in hospital after he fell from a roof in Shannon this morning.
The man in his 30’s was working at a former factory in the Shannon Industrial Estate where redevelopment works are ongoing.
The incident happened shortly after 10am when the worker fell through a panel in the roof.
An ambulance from Limerick City along with two units of the fire brigade from Shannon responded to the incident.
The fire service reached the scene within minutes after being diverted from a call they were already responding to.
The man was treated at the scene before being taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment.
While the man’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening it’s not yet known whether the incident is serious enough to warrant an investigation by the Health and Safety Authority (HSA).
