Storm Christine was the latest in a series of low pressure systems to bring heavy rain, winds and tidal surges towards the west of Ireland. Lahinch, Kilkee, Carrigaholt, Doolin, Quilty and Fanore were among the worst affected locations.
Coastal damage incurred in the county resulted in a bill of €40 million which is still being paid by the local authority.
Regular contributor to The Clare Herald, Niall Cosgrove compiled a video with photographs and footage showcasing the power of the sea and the waves crashing against the Lahinch promenade and surrounding properties.
