Back To Education Initiative to host sessions

The Back To Education Initiative (BTEI)  will host a series  information sessions for adults interested in completing their Leaving Certificate on a part time basis.

The Back To Education Initiative (BTEI) in Clare is part of the Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board (LCETB) has been delivering a part-time Leaving Certificate for adults since 2004.

Since then over 250 students throughout Clare have completed a Leaving Certificate.  Subjects are delivered on a part-time basis, usually 2 hour sessions twice a week at  Further Education and Training Centres throughout the county.

This year the Leaving Certificate for adults was completed by 26 learners ranging in age from 19 to their late 70s.  Classes were delivered in Ennis, Shannon and Scariff.

In line with the BTEI policy of flexible learning opportunities, classes were scheduled both during the day and evening time.

Information sessions will be held in the following venues in the coming weeks:

*Wednesday August 30th – Ennis  – Further Education & Training Centre, Clonroad Campus, Clonroad

*Thursday August 31st – Shannon – Further Education & Training Centre, 4 Bru Na Sionna

*Tuesday September 5th – Ennistymon – Vocational School

*Wednesday September 6th – Kilrush – Further Education & Training Centre, Cooraclare Road

*Thursday September 7th – Scariff – Further Education & Training Centre

There will be BTEI staff members available at these sessions to deal with any questions or queries.

The BTEI part-time Leaving Certificate is open to Adults and Young People over 18 and out of school for at least a year.
