Guaranteed Irish is one of Ireland’s most enduring, recognisable and authentic symbols. Guaranteed Irish has a network of 600+ members nationwide across various sectors, supporting over 71,390 jobs with an annual combined turnover of €11.2 billion to the Irish economy. The business membership organisation is currently experiencing an increase in inquiries from businesses throughout Ireland. The Guaranteed Irish symbol helps Irish consumers identify products and services that are a better choice for jobs and local communities in Ireland. Businesses that have been awarded the Guaranteed Irish mark have fulfilled the following criteria:
People & Jobs: Businesses that provide quality, sustainable jobs for people living in Ireland.
Place/ Provenance: Businesses that genuinely operate and add value in Ireland.
Enterprise & Community: Businesses that meaningfully engage with the local communities in which they are based.
‘By being Guaranteed Irish, it’s a differentiator for businesses in Ireland, a platform to gain a competitive advantage. The Guaranteed Irish mark speaks volumes about a company’s values. Guaranteed Irish represents all that is good about Ireland and we need to protect those businesses who aspire to that,’ Brid O’Connell, CEO, Guaranteed Irish
Senator Maria Byrne says: “The Government is continuing its intensive preparations for the possibility of a no deal Brexit. Given the lack of clarity regarding the timing and format that the UK’s exit will take, Budget 2020 will be prepared on the assumption of a disorderly Brexit and will provide measures to ensure that businesses in Ireland are prepared to the greatest extent possible for a No Deal Brexit”
“Many local businesses’ imports come via the UK. In a no-deal Brexit, local customers could face significant price increases to cover potentially non-reclaimable UK VAT at 20 per cent, import duties, customs, additional certification requirements and logistical delays. In light of this, businesses in the Mid-West can prepare for Brexit by working closely with Guaranteed Irish in a bid to safeguard jobs in their local communities and prepare necessary plans to meet the challenge of Brexit”.
