Entries open for Blas na hÉireann 2019

Entries are now open for the 12th Blas na hÉireann, the Irish Food Awards, the largest blind-tasted food awards on the island of Ireland.

Buyer event showcases Clare’s emerging food producers

Exciting, up and coming Clare-based producers such as Chapel Gate Irish Whiskey Co, Inagh Farmhouse Cheese and Wilde Irish Chocolates will join producers from all over Ireland at the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) ‘Meet the Buyer’ event taking place on ‘The Street’ at Limerick Institute of Technology (LIT) on Thursday, 23 May 2019.

13th Burren Slow Food Festival another success

The 13th annual Burren Slow Food Festival took place in Lisdoonvarna recently and brought together food and drinks producers, cooks, creators, eaters and writers for a weekend of talks, demonstrations and pop-up dinners from high profile chefs including Michelin stars Danni Barry and Takashi Miyazaki, Belfast’s Bia Rebel Head Chef Brian Donnelly and Euro-Toques Commissioner General, Gareth Mullins.

Earl of Thomond named AA restaurant of the year

The Earl of Thomond restaurant at Dromoland Castle has been named the AA Restaurant of the Year for 2019, the first time the AA has handed out such at an award as part of the annual AA Hospitality Awards.

The 13th annual Burren Slow Food Festival will take place in Lisdoonvarna this month.

Entries now open for Blas na hÉireann 2019

It’s the 12th year of Blas na hÉireann, the Irish Food Awards, the largest blind-tasted food awards on the island of Ireland, designed to recognise and celebrate the very best Irish food and drink. Entries are now open to producers across all 44 categories with the early bird discounted rate for entries running until 30th April. Entries will finally close on June 15th.

LEO showcases Clare’s most enterprising students

Over 400 second level students from 15 schools across Clare will be bidding to secure a golden ticket to this year’s Student Enterprise Programme National Final in Croke Park when they showcase their business ideas at the County Final on March 6th to 7th in Treacys West County Hotel, Ennis
