Shannon Airport welcomed return of two popular services which have been reintroduced by Ryanair.

Shannon remains the state’s busiest airport for unscheduled landings and aircraft emergencies even though the number of planes diverting last year dropped slightly.

A US-bound jet turned around over the Atlantic this afternoon and diverted to Shannon Airport after the crew declared a medical emergency.
