Burren businesses recognised for sustainable tourism practices

Fifty-eight businesses from across North Clare have been awarded Certificates of Achievement for honouring their commitments under the Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark Code of Practice for Sustainable Tourism for 2020/2021.

A body has been recovered from the sea off Co Clare this afternoon. The body is believed to be that of one of two men reported missing separately in the area in the past week.

HSE warning after Cryptosporidium outbreak

The Department of Public Health Mid-West is advising members of the public to improve handwashing in and around farm settings (wash your hands with hot water and soap), and to test and treat their well water, in order to reduce the risk of infection of Cryptosporidium.

Ennis Hockey Club, the one and the only hockey club in Clare, has organised a Golf Classic to raise funds for the club.

Grave concern at raw sewage being pumped into sea

Concern has been once again expressed that untreated raw sewage continues to be pumped into the sea and local rivers in North Clare.
