Ahead of Farm Safety Week 2020, representatives from some of Ireland’s key safety, farming and community organisations have come together to deliver a strong message aimed at reducing the number of fatalities and serious injuries on Irish farms.
Embrace FARM, the support network for those affected by farm accidents, will hold its annual Remembrance Service online this year on the Embrace FARM website on Sunday 28th June at 2pm.
With silage cutting season underway, the Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA) and the Road Safety Authority (RSA) are making a joint appeal to drivers of farming machinery and vulnerable road users to share the road safely.
An Garda Síochána has issued a safety message on the dangers associated with children and young teenagers being gifted quad bikes and scramblers this Christmas.
The Health and Safety Authority will begin an intensive farm safety inspection campaign on Monday 28th January with a focus on the safe management of livestock during calving season when the risk of injury to farmers increases significantly.
