€15m fund for rural towns and villages

The Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council, Cllr Mary Howard, has welcomed the announcement of €15 million in funding under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2021 by the Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, “at a time when the county’s towns and villages need to increase footfall and adapt post-Covid-19”.

Dooley brings forward bill to ban smoky coal 

Clare Fianna Fáil Senator and spokesperson on Climate Action, Timmy Dooley, has introduced a bill to the Oireachtas that will require the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to introduce regulations within 12 months of the passage of the legislation to prohibit the sale, marketing, distribution and burning of bituminous (smoky) coal on a nationwide basis. 

1000 people waiting for a passport in Clare

New information provided to Fianna Fáil spokesperson on Tourism and Aviation and TD for Clare, Cathal Crowe, show that there is a backlog of 1,000 passport applications in Clare.
