New sewerage scheme for Clarecastle 

Irish Water is working in partnership with Clare County Council to end the discharge of untreated wastewater to the River Fergus from the Clarecastle area. This unacceptable practice is not sustainable and threatens water quality as well as the amenity value of the river.

Refund of water charges to begin this year

Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government Mr. Eoghan Murphy T.D.  has confirmed that once water services legislation providing for refunds is enacted, expected in the autumn, refunds of domestic water charges can and will commence.
