Kilrush hosted the other semi-final which featured last year’s Senior A finalist, West Clare Gaels and last year’s Senior B champions, Kilmihil. The game was a close affair with both teams level at the interval. A missed penalty by the Gaels made the difference between the sides at the end when the score was 3-07 1-09 in favour of Kilmhill.
The Senior B finals now see West Clare Gaels play Newmarket-On-Fergus in an east meets west battle while Kilmurry Ibrickane meet St Jospehs Miltown in a local derby. The Senior Championship final dates will very much depend on the Clare result in the upcoming All-Ireland Intermediate Semi-Final which takes place this Saturday 3rd Sept. at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick at 3:15pm
Both Intermediate semi-finals also took place and in an excellent and high scoring game Shannon Gaels were nudged out of this year’s championship by Burren Gaels on a scoreline of 3-10 to 4-10, refereed by Paul Hickey in Miltown.
The other semi-final was between Fergus Rovers and Coolmeen and likewise a goal separated the sides with Coolmeen advancing on a score-line of 1-06 to 0-06 to 1-6. Now Coolmeen and Burren Gaels will take the field for the Intermediate Final, details have yet to be announced.
