Kilshanny House hosted a unique opportunity for all enthusiasts of local craft beer last weekend.

Brewed in Kilmaley, Western Herd offer a curious selection including Siege (pale ale style) named after the siege of Ennis and their red Foxcatcher. Tastes of citrus, coriander and orange hopped off the tongues of those in attendance as they tripped along the coastline.

Each beer has a different area of the Clare coast on the label and all the names of the beers are drawn from the county’s heritage and culture.

Co-owner of Kilshanny House, Mary Butler told The Clare Herald there was no fear of going thirsty at the venue. “The Master Brewer Rai was very popular on the night sharing his passion with all the beer lovers and gently guiding the cautious. With the selection on tap, bottles galore, the whistle was whet and to the beat of the bodhrán left locals and holiday makers having a mighty night and no one went thirsty”.
