Local and international talent for Kilrush gigs

Next month brings some exciting musical performances to Kilrush, with a combination of local and international talent.

Banner Books in Kilrush will be the venue for a night of songs and stories with Davóg Rynne and Astrid Adler. Now living in France, Davóg is originally a Clare man, the son of Anne and Davoc Rynne, and is a multi-instrumentalist with a powerful voice.

Astrid Adler, from the Kilrush area, will be accompanying him on the wire-strung harp.  The Friday April 12th event, is part of the Cosy Concert series which will run throughout the spring and summer, featuring intimate, acoustic performances with donation-based ticket options to make them affordable for everyone.

The weekend continues on Sunday April 14th with a very special lunchtime concert at the Vandeleur Walled Gardens, featuring the guitar and cello duo Deziah and Date. As a cellist, Ilse De Ziah is known for her daring and emotionally charged performances which connect at a deep level with people from all walks of life.

Ian Date is regarded as one of Australia’s great guitarists. Known for his lyrical, inventive style and virtuosity, Date has performed extensively as a jazz musician since the 1980s. Frequent collaborator Hank Marvin (The Shadows) says “If he’s performing in your area, seize the opportunity to see and hear one of Australia’s finest guitarists.”

Ian and Ilse lived in Ireland for many years. In this concert they will present music from their latest album “Here and There” which was written and recorded in Ireland and Australia.
