Research by motoring solutions specialist, easytrip Ireland, has revealed that a third of Irish motorists are considering the purchase of a new vehicle in the second half of 2016.
Of this amount 54% are looking to purchase a new 162 model and 46% a used vehicle. Easytrip is reminding customers who are buying a new vehicle to update their account details to avoid incurring toll bills and penalty notices from motorway operators.
46% of those considering a new vehicle purchase are seeking a similar size to their current vehicle, 31% are looking to upgrade to a larger model while 8% hope to downsize to a smaller model and engine size. The easytrip research also revealed that 14% are looking to purchase a second family car.
“Our research shows that a significant number of drivers are looking to upgrade their vehicles during the 162 registration period” says Colin Delaney, General Manager, easytrip Ireland.
