A man arrested by Gardaí following an incident of dangerous driving in the county over the weekend has been released without charge.
The man in his 20s was arrested on Saturday night in the Miltown Malbay area after Gardaí received a report of a vehicle driving in a dangerous manner.
Gardaí responded to the area where they encountered a dark coloured vehicle. Videos that were later circulated on social media showed a Garda patrol car intercepting a vehicle which stopped and reversed back along the road way.
A man was later arrested by Gardaí.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed: “Gardaí attended the scene of an incident of dangerous driving that occurred in the Miltown Malbay area of Co. Clare on Saturday, 12th July 2025 at approximately 10:30pm.
A male in his 20s was arrested and conveyed to a Garda Station in Co. Clare. The male has since been released and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).”
