Shannon flight diverts to Dublin

12.10pm – Flight due in Shsmnon at 1.00pm.

1.10pm – Flight has departed Dublin and is due in Shsnnon at 1.35pm.

1.32pm – Flight EI-3675 landed at Shannon at 1.30pm almost three and half hours behind schedule. The return leg to Edinburgh, due to depart at 11.05am, has been delayed as a result.

Earlier:

A Shannon bound flight has diverted to Dublin Airport with an ill passenger.

Aer Lingus Regional flight EI-3675, operated by Stobart Air, departed Edinburgh shortly after 9.00am.

About 30 minutes into the flight the crew contacted air traffic controllers in Dublin and advised them they were declaring a medical emergency. They confirmed they had a male passenger on board suffering from a possible heart attack.

The crew opted to divert to Dublin and requested emergency medical services to standing by for their arrival.

The ATR-72-600 turbo prop aircraft landed in Dublin shortly after 10.00am and was met by ambulance paramedics.

The passenger was assessed at the scene before being removed to hospital for treatment.

The flight, which was due in Shannon at 10.40am, is not now expected until 11.30am.
